AFFORESTATION

Where applicable

In semi-arid zone the water holding capacity of soil is too poor for healthy growth of plant and most of the plants are whithered away in harsh weather. Again on sea shore, shifting of sand is sometimes become problem for nearby agriculture and plantation on the shore. In such situation open mesh fabrics are very effective for afforestation.

Why applied

In dry climate growth rate of plants of treated area is 20 - 30 % higher than that of normal plants without treatment due to high conservation of moisture. On sea shore it arrests shifting of sand initially and protects agriculture and plants nearby and finally helps grow vegetation stopping movement of sand forever.
